Life Boat
“But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive.”
Acts 9:40-41 NKJV

Tabitha was their life boat. We cannot forget that the community that was built around the commonality of Jesus was protested at all ends. There were so many natural and supernatural forces determined to thwart any efforts of the disciples after the death of Jesus.
Encouragement and relief was hard won. Tabitha was clearly a champion in the eyes of those who loved her. They had accepted that she was dead. I don’t know that they had accepted that she should stay that way.

“Sister, as we read and receive this Truth, may I repeat Peter’s words to you today?
Get up.
Get up, because the Good News is alive in you, pumping through your veins, awakening each breath, and calling you to sit up in the sovereign Hands of Truth.
May we allow ourselves to be pulled by the Gospel today, the only thing on which we can stand.” ~ TABITHA by Kaitlin Wernet for SRT
